Unlawful Detentions Amidst Political Tensions

Mass Abduction, On September 18 and 19, September 2024, Cameroon occupation police and gendarme forces conducted mass abductions in Buea, the capital of Ambazonia. These abductions coincided with the screening a documentary film on President Paul Biya’s leadership. The timing and nature of these detentions raise serious concerns about the motives behind this operation, suggesting an attempt to suppress dissent and silence voices critical of the regime.

Arbitrary Targeting of Civilians

Eyewitness accounts and local reports indicate that the abductions were arbitrary, targeting innocent civilians without clear charges or due process. Many of those detained were simply going about their daily lives when they were apprehended. This blatant disregard for legal procedures and human rights highlights the ongoing oppression faced by the people of Ambazonia under Cameroon’s occupation forces.
