Violent Assault on a Civilian
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, a bike rider became the latest victim of brutality. Cameroon occupation forces stopped him, seized his motorcycle without providing any legal justification, and proceeded to beat him severely. Their only accusation was that he failed to stop at a checkpoint—something the rider claims he was unaware of due to not hearing their call. This type of attack is not isolated; it is one of many incidents fueling mass unrest by Cameroon occupation forces in Ambazonian communities.

Violation of International Humanitarian Law
This assault constitutes a war crime under International Humanitarian Law, particularly the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit violence to life and person, including cruel treatment and torture of civilians in conflict zones. The bike rider, a non-combatant, was entitled to protection under these laws. His arbitrary detention, physical assault, and seizure of property are in direct violation of these international standards.

Abuse of Human Rights and Freedoms
The actions of Cameroon occupation forces also violate several fundamental human rights, including the right to life, liberty, and security of person as outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The right to be free from arbitrary arrest and detention is routinely ignored. These violations are systematic and unchecked, and contribute significantly to the growing mass unrest by Cameroon occupation forces throughout Ambazonia.

A Community Living in Fear
This brutal behavior has left communities like Santa in a state of constant fear. The lack of justice and absence of security have eroded trust and undermined peace. People now live under daily psychological and physical stress. As mass unrest by Cameroon occupation forces spreads, Ambazonians are calling for urgent international intervention to end the unlawful occupation and ensure protection of their rights under International law.
