October 1, 2024, Sop Ndu, Donga Mantung State, Northern Ambazonia: militia groups attacked Sop Village in Donga State, Ambazonia. Among the victims was Mr. Mangoh George Nyako, who was brutally killed in his home. He was shot with a local gun and stabbed with a knife before being taken to Sop Health Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. This incident, occurring on Ambazonia’s Independence Day, highlights the ongoing brutality faced by civilians.

The war in Ambazonia began in 2016/2017 when peaceful protests by the English-speaking population of Ambazonia were met with violent repression by Cameroonian Occupation forces. The situation quickly escalated into an armed war, with Ambazonians fighting for independence. Widespread human rights abuses, including extrajudicial killings, arbitrary arrests, and the destruction of property have characterized the Cameroonian government’s response.

The war has had devastating consequences for the civilian population. Thousands have been killed, and hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes. The humanitarian situation is dire, with many lacking access to necessities such as food, water, and medical care. Despite mounting evidence of war crimes and crimes against humanity, the International community has largely remained silent.

The continuous genocide in Ambazonia demands urgent attention from the International Community. Global leaders and human rights organizations must take decisive action to hold the Cameroonian government accountable for its actions and to provide much-needed support to the victims of Amazonia civilians. The people of Ambazonia deserve justice, peace, and the right to self-determination.

The atrocities committed by militia groups sponsored by Cameroon Occupation Forces in Ambazonia are a stark reminder of the urgent need for International intervention. The global community must act now to end the violence and support the people of Ambazonia in their quest for peace and justice.
